Minnesota’s Annual Rite of Spring

Get in Gear Events

Parking and Transportation

NOTE: There is no parking at the VA Medical Center or shuttle for 2022. Please review the options below for getting to the event.

The 3 main lots on Godfrey Parkway will have signs on the pay stations indicating that Get in Gear has absorbed the cost of parking beginning at 12 pm on Friday.

Parking spots adjacent to the Pavilion (west side and on Old Minnehaha) are not part of the paid parking.

If you park in other metered parking areas on that day without paying, you will be ticketed.

Parking is NOT allowed in the bus circle.
There is NO PARKING available in the park on Saturday for participants.

Vehicles are subject to being ticketed if parked in a "no parking area".

Executive committee members and sponsors may park on a very limited basis by permit only.

Neighborhood parking north of Nawadaha Boulevard only. No parking at Minnehaha Park, Nawadaha Boulevard or the VA.

Take Metro Transit free of charge between 6 am – 4 pm via the Blue Line. You may download a pass after completing a brief survey. You can print the pass or show it on your phone to a bus driver or anyone checking for passes on the train.

A good option for a park and ride is at Fort Snelling which is very close to the VAMC where we previously had parking for a shuttle. The Fort Snelling Station Map from Metro Transit has additional details.

For more detailed information and schedules, including Blue Line, Green Line and Bus Rapid Transit, is located on Metro Transit’s METRO page.

Get in Gear is not hosting a bike corral this year. There is a bike corral located near Sea Salt Eatery on the south side of the pavilion than can be used to secure a bicycle.
