Greetings to our Get in Gear past participants!

We couldn’t be more excited to reach our 40th annual Get in Gear events and look forward to sharing information with you in the coming weeks as details are confirmed. Monthly updates will be sent to all registrants as well as posted at www.getingearevents.com. We are extending our low priced Early Bird Registration through November 30th. You can register here.

For starters, here are our first round of exciting updates:

NEW Half Marathon Course for 2017! On this new course runners will continue to run north of the Lake Street Bridge for an out and back versus running south of the Ford Bridge for an out and back. View the course map. This event is limited to the first 1500 to register and we think this will fill quickly this year.

NEW commemorative 40th anniversary design custom medals to ALL finishers of all events. An image of this gift in commemoration of 40 years of Get in Gear events will be posted on our website soon. We are super excited about giving these out to all.

NEW written piece on the "History of the Get in Gear through the years", written in collaboration with the Get in Gear's first Race Director, Bill Kennedy, from 1978-1985, in memory of Race Director, Jeff Winter, from 1986-1997, with information written by Bruce Brothers and followed by a summary of the years from 1998-current under current Race Director, Paulette Odenthal. This is a good read that is being finalized and shows both how the Get in Gear has changed throughout the years, but also stayed the same. This will be posted on our website and linked in our next month's email update.

NEW 40th Anniversary video in production in commemoration of Get in Gear through the years. This will be posted on our home page by December.

NEW Birthday Cake at Bib Number Pickup! It is Get in Gear's 40th birthday after all.

Other things that you can expect:

  • 40th Anniversary Design and gender specific shirt with registration;
  • MyPillow Travel and Go pillow at Bib Number pickup;
