Elite Athlete Update

Definition of Comp vs. Seeded Entry:

Comp Entry:  A 10K registration that has no fees attached and will allow the elite runner to start in the front corral based on the race number assigned.

Seeded Entry:  A 10K registration that must include current registration fee and will allow the elite runner to start in the front corral based on the race number assigned. Seeded entries will be given out based on the runner’s qualifications.

Athletes that are sent a comp entry per Get in Gear standards:

All age group winners and overall winners of the previous year will receive a comp entry by mail before the end of February.

Athletes that are sent a seeded entry per Get in Gear standards:

Elite athletes that have ranked high in the past year’s Get in Gear but did not meet the Get in Gear comp entry standard.

Athletes that have a record of performance in the past year showing potential Get in Gear course record breaking may also qualify for a comp entry after processing the following information:

Send by e-mail giginfo@getingearevents.com or fax (651-788-9184) the following information:

- Registration form with completed information plus USATF Number and Social Security Number. Registration form must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2017.

In order to be eligible for prize money your registration form must include your social security number and your USATF #. If an athlete does not have a social security number and valid address the prize money will not be awarded to that athlete.

Also for those athletes that are running for a USATF team note that your USATF number will be used to automatically provide your team information as the team points are tabulated.

Registration form must have:

- Your signature
- Resume of past performances from the previous year

Once we receive this information, we will contact you (with the contact information you've provided) to confirm your status.

Elite Athlete Race Numbers Pick-up: You may pick up your race numbers either Friday, April 28, from Noon to 8:00 p.m. at the Minnehaha Park Pavilion and look for the signage for Elite Athlete Pick-Up OR Saturday, April 29, before 8:00 a.m. at the T-Shirt Tent located near the pavilion.

Get in Gear will absorb the cost of parking in the park on Friday, April 28, for people picking up their race numbers. Two parking lots on the north side of the Pavilion (approximately 250 parking spots) are “free” to our participants beginning at Noon. Please note that parking is NOT allowed in the bus circle and that the parking spots adjacent to the Pavilion (west side and on Old Minnehaha) are not part of the paid parking for the day.
